Hello,

Delighted to know that you provide active consultations at an age when most are long retired. Please continue the same, for “Vocational Health”, is an often ignored important dimension of health.

Yes, you are right, whey protein and vitamins are required for stamina, and supplements are an important source, but they come only second to natural sources. You need atleast 1 to 1.2grams of protein per day, from all sources.

Natural sources of proteins :
1.     Meat : Fish & sea food (best); Chicken (skinless); avoid red meat
2.     Pulses : Grams, dal, Nuts, peas etc.
3.     Egg white
4.     Milk & milk products

Natural sources of vitamins : All fresh fruits & vegetables

Supplements :
Caution- limit consumption in case of kidney disease; adverse effects due to ingredients not otherwise mentioned on product.
1.     Amway’s Nutrilite
2.     Optimum Nutrition range of products – some contain multivitamins

Finally, ideal for you would be to get a personalized diet chart from a qualified dietician.

Wishing you good health,
Dr. Arun Mohan

Hello,
Thanks for the query to H.C.M. Forum.
Stamina will increase with exercise and high protein diet ( but in limit) .
Your requirement of energy ( calories / day is not more than 2000 ) depends upon physical work , not mental ( brain ) work.
In market there are so many brands of whey protein available , you can have it.
Excess of protein may damage kidney ,so be aware of that also.
Hope I have answered your question.
If further any question I will help.
Good luck.
Dr. HET
