Abscess Drain In Buttocks. What Can Stop The Leaking?
i have had an abcess drained on my bum by surgery in hospital last week i have been changing my dressing daily but it keeps leaking how long will it take to stop leaking the puss is yellow and a bit smelly shall i go back to see my doctor or is this normal they didnt give me an medication when i left the hospital thanks karen

The pus should be sent for culture and sensitivity.
If appropriate antibiotic is used,the pus will be decreased.
You can extend the incision over the abscess and you can clean the cavity fully.It also decreases the pus load.
Please consult your doctor and ask for extension of incision.
