Hello,
Welcome to Healthcaremagic.
I had gone through your query and understand your concern.
It suspect you may have either
Peptic ulcer or Gallstones.
As the pain is only under the rib cage, it is most probably due to gallstones.
But it is also associated with severe pain on taking pork chop, it may also be due to peptic ulcer or gall stones.
If you are my patient, i will start with proton pump inhibitors like
Pantoprazole 40 mg once daily for 2 weeks.
At the same, i advise you to upper Gi endoscopy and H.Pylori test.
If H.Pylori is present, i will definitely add appropriate antibiotics like amoxicillin or
clarithromycin depends upon the lesion in endoscopic findings and positivity of H.Pylori.
If there is no improvement, i will suggest you to go for liver function tests and fasting
lipid profile.
Then i will try to manage accordingly with
cholesterol level and liver enzymes . If possible i will start deoxycholic acid tablets.
Thus i suggest you to do endoscopy first and review with results.
Hope this helps.
If you have additional questions or follow up queries then please do not hesitate in writing to us. I will be happy to answer your queries.
Wishing you good health.

Dr.Manjeth.
