Abdominal Bloating, Pain, Nausea And Diarrhea With High WBC, Diagnosed As Intestinal Infection. Should I Stop Laxatives?

I was hospitalized about 2 mos. ago with intestinal infection. I had a very high white count, abdominal bloating to the point that I looked 8-9 mos. pregnant and wasn t, and extreme abdominal pain. I also had nausea and generally just didn t feel good. I had explosive diarrhea that I could not control. I had x-rays ant a ct scan that showed I was full of stool, this is now happening again, I have an apt with a GI doctor next week for a consultation, I am currently using laxatives, stool, softners, and enemas, and drinking lots of water to clear m y intestines out, also I pass very little gas if any, and I m still in pain and have abdominal distention ( I look 6 mos pregnant right now even after these treatments), any advice that you have from me would be greatly appreciated!

Dear Madam,

I think you should stop laxatives so that the infection can be stabilised . You should get a USG abdomen also .
