8mm and 5 mm calculi in gall bladder. Surgery or medicine?

When I take an abdominal scan, it is seen that a 8 and 5 mm calculi in the gall bladder . can I avoid surgery? can it dissolve by medicine? what precautions may I taken . Your valuable advise solicited
