8 Year Old Girl Suffering From Grey Hair, Increasing In Number. Treatment?
My daughter is 8 years old & healthy. She suffers from greying of hair. Earlier i saw only a couple of grey hair but now in last one 1 year its has increased a lot. I am 35 years old & i have grey hair but i did not have this issue in child hood. Please suggest what could be reason & what treatment / checks i should take.
Hi and thanks for this query. I am sorry about the way you feel about this grey hair on your daughter.
Honestly, grey hair is not an illness. many people don't just like it but it is not associated with any particular pathology. It runs in families and in no way makes any particular disease more common than in the general population.
I suggest you stay calm. If it should cause an esthetic problem, then you may want to do regular dyeing of the hair. Otherwise, stay calm. sit with her and counsel her. Make her feel comfortable with her condition and know that she is in no way different from others. Also, let her know it is not a disease but a mere variation.
Hope this helps you and your daughter. Wish you good health.
