Pediatrician Dr. S. Arun's  Response
Dear Ms.Michael, Dr. Aseem's answer will apply to many babies and such episodes are generally harmless. However, I will advice you to consult a Paediatrician as there can be other serious causes of black stools(or melena in medical terms). Without assessing the baby one can only keep guessing the cause of the problem. Best wishes to you.
