72 Years. Swollen Ankles. In Need Of Losing Weight. History Of Back Pain, Knee Replacement, Damaged Nerve Ending. Help

You at very handsome qmy ankles ar swollen what can I do to reduce the swelling we hav a heat wave here at the moment and I need to loose weight but I am dieting for months now and at 72find I don't loose it as fast I swim every day can't walk like I used to as I hav back problems plus a knee replacement and I hav damaged nerve endings after it

Welcome to Healthcaremagic. I think you had knee replacement for Degenerative changes in your knee joint. Please mention when you had Knee replacement. Degenerative changes are common in old age. Try to avoid Heavy work, Weight lifting and Other Heavy exercises. Take bed rest for at least 3 days it will be helpful for your back pain. Meantime take some NSAIDS for pain.Swollen ankles may be due to local ankle arthritis or some systemic diseases. Please check your urea, creatinine and uric acid level in blood. Diet modification is very essential in this age. Try to consume more vegetables and protein rich diet.
