7 Years Old Boy Is Suffering From Fever, What Is The Chances Of Typhoid ?
my son is 7 yrs old he had fever on 6th morning doc gave him pcm and amox then he was alright whole day took med at night and slept mor 3 am had 103.5 temp again gave pcm and water therapy but temp didnot subside again gave half pcm at 9am but no change temp rose to 103.7 took him to doc blood test showed typhoid took him to hopital and since then he is okay but he doesn t show any other sym of typhoid and is normal eating his food also normally.i just want to know is this normal and happens with others also

In first week of fever to detect Typhoid one should do BLOOD CULTURE test.But COMMONLY WIDAL TEST is done to detect typhoid,which is not specific and oftenly misguided the treatment as small rise of value(1:20 or 1:40)is not indication of the disease.typhoid is a water born disease like diarrhoea and always use contamination free water.

Thanks for query,
if you are talking of 6th august your son is having temperature.
This is not possible to diagnose typhoid with temp.of one day.
Widal test for thphoid becomes positive after a week so this is also not possible.
There may be another infection.

thanks for the query
generally widal test shows positive at the end of 1st week of illness
have your son suffered before with typhoid
sometimes it shows positively falsely due to any cause fo fever if he suffered previously suffered with typhoid
so you have to again investigate for other causes like malaria, respiratory infection and urinary tract infection.
go for urine test and PS for malaria
