6 Year Old With A Hard Lump Near The Ear, Fever. Allergy?

My 6yr old son has had a hard lump in front of his left ear near the jaw line. He developed it 1 month ago when he got sick from we really don't know what . He had a fever and 1 of his eyes was swollen from maybe allergy like symptoms. The Dr at the time put him on antibiotics and said it was a swollen gland. Well now like I mentioned its hard and still there and he says it hurts when you press it.

Pediatrician 's  Response
Hi,

Thanks for writing to health care magic.

From the description provided by you it could be a infected lymph node. If the fever and swelling does not subside with the antibiotics that are given then you should consult your pediatrician for further investigations.

Continue to ask further queries as required.
Hope this helps.
Take care.
