6 Year Old. Having Fever, Cold, Cough, Loose Stools With Green Matter. Given T-minic. Treatment?

My 6 year old daughter had fever with cough , cold and vomited mucous day before yesterday. Yesterday the doctor advised to start T-minic, bricanyl and later in the evening she had loose motion after which he advised to start Taxim-O syrup 6ml twice a day with sporlac. Today she has been having severe stomach pain followed by 5/6 times loose stools ,with green matter throughout the day and he is suggesting to wait for 48 hrs after the start of Taxim. She has no apetite. Please suggest remedy.

Pediatrician 's  Response
Hi,

Thank you for your query.

Your daughter seems to be having a viral upper respiratory tract infection and intestinal infection. Though the doctor has prescribed an antibiotic to be on the safer side the viral infection shall take its own time and should settle down in the next 24-48 hours. Even if it was a bacterial infection any antibiotic (Taxim-O) shall take 24-48 hours to have its effect.

Ensure that your daughter drinks enough fluids in the form of lemonade, coconut water, buttermilk so that she is not dehydrated.

I hope I have answered your query to your satisfaction.

Wishing your daughter an early recovery.

Regards,

RKK
