Hello there, A bout of fever in a child of this age needs to be very carefully monitored. This age group is susceptible to febrile convulsions and thats the reason why the fever should be immediately brought down with tepid sponging and/or anti pyretic medication. Cough with fever could suggest lower respiratory tract infection and you need to get your child evaluated for the same. Was she given a course of antibiotics that led to altered bowel movement ? Is there any other member in your family who is suffering from similar complaints ? Once you get your child evaluated with a complete blood count along with a chest radiograph, a decision can be made on initiation of appropriate antibiotics. Wishing your child a speedy recovery.
