hello, since when does he have these symptoms? if these symtoms are persisting for more than five days and he develops more symptoms he may be suffering from an infection of sinuses which is called the sinusitis which also explains his protrusion. Take lots of warm fluids and try steam inhalation if the symptoms persists then do see an ENT who depending on the severity will assess the further course of treatment. if his sinuses are giving him regular and recurrent problems then its advisable to go for an extensive evaluation which includes CT PNS and diagnostic nasal endoscopy. regards
