20 Year Old Having Chiari Malformation, Herniation Of The Cerebellar Tonsils. Polyps In The Nasal Passage, Deviated Septum. Surgery Needed?
Hello, I am 20 years old and have been diagnosed with a type 1 Chiari malformation with herniation of the cerebellar tonsils 4mm below the level of foramen magnum. Also a polypoidal mucoperiosteal disease in both maxillary sinuses. I have polyps and a cyst in my nasal passages and a deviated septum. I have been told my sinuses are unable to drain. I have many signs and symptoms and am now considering surgery. Would this be the best option? Thanks, Katrina

You have type 1 Chiari malformation with polypoidal sinusoidal disease,yes surgery for sinus is the best option and outcome depends on skilled ENT surgeon
