2 Year Kid, Fever, Leg Pain, Vomiting. Urine Analysis Shows Blood, Ketones, Proteins. Any Ideas?

My 2 year old daughter has been running a fever between 103 and 104 for 4 days. She has been complaining of leg pain and now shoulder pain. She began vomiting yesterday, but has had no other complaints. She was acting completely normal until yesterday when she became very easily agitated and cranky. I took her to the peditrician this morning and she was negative for strep and ear infection. He took a urine sample and it showed blood (without white blood cells present), keytones, and protein. He told me to watch her fever for a few more days to see if it is just a virus and wants to repeat a urinalysis in the next few months. I am very concerned that there could be something more serious going on.

Pediatrician 's  Response
Hi The history which you gave eg Fever, leg pain, vomiting togather with urine
results rg presence of blood, Protein in the urineis most likely she got urinary tract
infection and I suggest you should take her to the Paeditrician, she may need
antibiotic. I insist you must collect a sample of MSU (mid stream urinr) before starting antibiotics and that urine sample should be sent for culture and sensitivity.
At the same time give her burley water and paracetamol syrup 250mgm three to four times daily. Kindest regards Dr. S.K.Mukherjee
