Brief Answer:
seems to be fungal infection with nutritional deficiencies

Detailed Answer:

Hi,

I had gone through your question and understand your concerns that your mother is having white spots on tongue.

Based on your clinical details, it appears to be fungal patches (on sulphamethaxazole) with drowsiness due to nutritional deficiencies.

Antibiotics usage causes oral candidiasis in senile persons. Not taking food, due to burning sensation secondary to fungal infection may land up in fatigue, weakness and nutritional deficiencies (serum electrolytes).

I suggest you to take her to ER, get evaluated with blood tests (serum electrolytes, serum calcium), ent consultation (fungal infection). Depending on the examination, treatment can be started.

Hope this answers your question, if you have additional questions or follow up questions then please do not hesitate in writing to us. I will be happy to answer your questions.

Wishing you good health.
