Question: i was on multivitamins and zinc sulphate tablets...one day i just drank a beer along with my tablets and had some ciggarettes( i used to drink and smoke since last 2 years)...after that i took a lactobacillus tablet as my stomach was feeling little ill.....i started having wierd symptoms the next day...there was a slight heaviness in my backside of the head...the heaviness slowly increased and increased...i sarted to feel breathless, feverish and very uneasy at various times since then...my eye started twitching and my neck got stiffer and stiffer.....at moments i felt so disgusting that it felt like i will die or go crazy....after that i showed multiple specialist and they could conclude nothing but anxiety....i took painkillers thinking it would work but it didnt work....my digestion got poorer and poorer and my bowel became worse...also i feel numbness in my leg when i fold it and numness in my face and nerve vibration on my face..also doctors gave me anxiety medicines like triptyline which didnt work as well......after then i tried showing homeopathy and it cured my stomach problems and rest of the symptoms have gone down but still feeling of shortness of breath, going crazy feeling, muscle spasms, slight heaviness in the head and strange feeling in the ears exists........then i started searching my symptoms in the internet and concluded myself that i may have candida or some reaction ocurred in my body or something similar.....i also feel slight pressure in chest these days....also i would like to mention that i have left alcohol and ciggaretes since these symptoms started and i was huge junk food eater since 2-3 years.....but i am amused how these symptoms started all at once and i have developed a sudden intolerance towards alcohol and ciggarettes too with a strange feeling...also i have a little bad posture..please doctor help me, i cant live with all this anymore and all these symptoms started suddenly...and i have done my head ct scan and neck pulmonary tests which are fine....i am 20 years old and lost all hope please help

Brief Answer:
Sounds like withdrawal reaction

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

As I read your query and other details I could think of initial disulfiram like reaction when you consumed alcohol with multivitamins and zinc. Alcohol gives a very weird feeling when you consume it with minerals and salts which are present in the drugs mentioned. So you had a stomach upset which went for few days to weeks. Incidentally you took a decision to quit smoking and alcohol and slowly this disulfiram reaction transformed into 'Withdrawal affects' of nicotine and ethanol.

These feelings would last for weeks to few months. The next step for you is to visit a Addiction medicine centre who can deal with the withdrawal reaction effectively and which will slowly come to baseline and you can lead a better life every after without alcohol and smoke.

All this is more evident when doctors did not find organic disease and anti anxiety drugs did not work on you.

Brief Answer:
Origin of such imbalances not known

Detailed Answer:
Hi

I am not sure about the origin of chemical imbalances in the brain. But if this is found true, you can get benefit from certain medications. I suggest you to do the same as Dr Madhusudhan.
