Question: hi.. i am on my birth control pills from last month.. i took all the pills correctly for month and also started new pack immediately as i wanted to delay my periods for 1 week.. after i stopped the pills i got my periods and i started a new pack from day 5 of periods that is yesterday.. i just wanted to know if i can have unprotected sex now without getting pregnant or should i use any back-up protection for some days..

If you have started a new package on day five of your periods, but it is called as day one of your periods while you have used pills to postpone periods.

i have discarded the pack in which i had taken 7 pills to postpone my periods and started a new pack on day 5 of periods.. it is fine right?

As you report, you mean that you haven't use any pill for first five days of your periods .
It means that if you use birth control packs of 21 pills, you are protected and you don't need any another method of contraception.
But if you use birth control packs of 28 pills, than you aren't protected and you need another method of contraception for seven days.
