What Does Presence Of Bilirubin In Urine Indicate?
Question: can dehydration or starvation cause biliruben to appear in urine (a level 3). Does this always mean liver damage and if so is this treatable/reversible?

Presence of bilirubin in the urine is not normal, and it does not occur because of starvation. Yes it indicates liver or gall bladder dysfunction. There are several causes of this.
either they could be 1) Hepatitis because of any reason.
2) Cirrhosis of the liver .
3) Stones in the biliary tract.
4) Tumors of liver / gall bladder.
5) Biliary tract disease.
And any lab errors in the form of false sampling or exposure of sample to U.V rays etc.
It is good that you have planned for ultrasound scan. I also suggest get your self completely evaluated by liver function test and other related tests.
Once you done with ultrasound and other tests then let me know about results and upload reports.
Most of the above mentioned are reversible with treatment. Please don't panic. Hope I could help you.
