Question: recently my Lopressor prescription has been doubled due to tachycardia. I' feeling very weak and tired could this be the cause?

Yes lopressor can cause weakness and fatigue and this would be particularly more at more than 70 years of age .
lopressor slows the heart pumping as an over all effect resulting in decreased blood supply to the exercising muscle , also decrease in heart rate more than required may cause weakness and the body wouldn't get enough blood supply .
However in heart condition the benefitial effects are far more than the fatigue it causes .
So discuss it with your doctor about the side effects , Best is to slowly up titrate dose do that the body gets accustomed to the new plateau.
Also discuss the alternatives with your doctor .
