The urinary bladder has an intrinsic capacity to distend gradually with very less increase in pressures.
Holding urine for a long time is not known to cause any disease. In fact women in third world countries have a large bladder capacity as there are few public toilets.
It only increases the functional bladder capacity. It may have advantage in holding urine for a longer time and it is not known to have caused any problem in itself.
