Why Is The Penile Shaft's Girth Different From The Penile Head?
Question: The head of my erection is much larger than the shaft. The head is 2+ inches in diameter, and the shaft is 1.5 in diameter. This strong pain and discomfort for my wife. I am also 7.5 inches in longth, and deep penetration caused her painful pressure. We have used many types of lubes, and they only help a small amount. Her ob/gyn gave her some dialators, but the largest one is smaller than i am, and so they don't help. I have read that anything done to reduce my size, will also reduce function. Is this true? We practice lots of foreplay, but It still causes her burning pain. Thank you

I read your query and understand your genuine concerns.
First of all regarding differences in diameter of shaft and glans of penis it is usual and found in almost 30-60 % of men. Fortunately the glans is made of spongy tissue and gets pressed when it is in confined space (read vagina). I mean to say that despite the diameter differences glans do not cause any significant discomfort for your partner.
Now regarding the lubes I understand she has tried many but in My view a trial should be given to KY Jelly and estrogen based suppositories. It is possible that her estrogen level is low leading to dryness of vagina and discomfort.
You are right in saying that reducing the size of penis may lower your capability to have successful sexual intercourse but possibility of such side effects is very low. Having said this I am of the opinion that surgical correction of penis size is not an option at this stage as this is the last option and nobody can do it for ethical and other reasons. The more practical will be to avoid deep penetration and not hurting you partner. I understand that it will limit your sexual pleasure but it is much less risky than decreasing the size by any means.
