Brief Answer:
To enhance ovulation and maintain hormone level.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

Thanks for posting your query.

Since you are trying to conceive, your doctor has prescribed the hCG injection to enhance ovulation and Utrogestan is a progestogen given to enhance the endometrial support to receive an embryo should implantation occur.

So, please do not worry, you are receiving the right medication. It can take some attempts before you can see results, so try patiently.

Hope I have clarified your query. Please feel free to contact for more information. I will be happy to help.

Thanks for the reply mam, my period came 9 days late and I bleded heavily for two days. Is that an implantation bleeding or chemical pregnancy.

Brief Answer:
Can be an ordinary period also.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

Thanks for writing back.

If you have always had regular periods, this delay should be investigated. To know if this is a chemical pregnancy, an estimation of serum beta-hCG titres should be performed to confirm and if positive, at serial intervals to see if the levels are falling.

Implantation bleeding is usually slight spotting and happens at about the time of the expected period. The serum beta-hCG titres in this instance double every 2-3 days if the pregnancy is progressing well.

Apart from these possibilities, it could also be a delayed natural period since you have taken the progesterone supplement.

Hope your doubt has been cleared. Please get back if you need any more suggestions. I will be glad to help.

Brief Answer:
Less likely in this cycle.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

Thanks for writing back.

If you have had Ovral L during the previous cycle, then you may not have ovulated and as such, your chances of pregnancy in this cycle are less. I do not understand the strategy behind giving hCG and an oral contraceptive in the same cycle. Moreover, the pill was given only for ten days and this may have caused the delay and the heavy period.

Ovarian cysts of 2-3 cm. size are usually managed medically; monitoring is done through follow up sonograms and clinical exam. If symptomatic, they may need active treatment; else, they can be watched without any manipulation.

Hope I have clarified your query. Please contact if you need any more information. I will be available to help.

regards,
Shanti.V.
