Question: I am XXXXXXX from XXXXXXX I am 29 years old working as a software engineer . Now I am planning to marry a girl who is relative to me .She is daughter of my mothers bro. I am having so many doubts regarding that can I hat marry that girl or not. I was thinking about the future generation .So that Please suggest me

Thanks for the query.
There are 6 percent chances of having some birth defect(related marriage) specially autosomal recesive character in comparision of 3 percent in normal population.
Some diseases like cystic fibrosis, spina bifida are 1 to 1.5 percent more likley to occur in couples which are relatives or cousines.
But nothing to worry, as the disorders may occur in normal populations also.
Age of women also carries risk of getting birth defect, like more defects in 40s than 30s.

Yes you can do some test like genetic counselling and screening for haemoglobinopathies.
There only 3 percent extra risk becuase general people also have 3 percent risk.
So i would suggest you to go ahead after genetic counselling.
