What To Look For In A Home Pregnancy Test To Confirm Pregnancy?
Question: Hi Doc,
I got my period last month on 22nd, and I have also been trying for a second child since three months, first chigh this monthld is already 2 years. I have not getting any periods ( as they come 2-3 days ahead ). I had a feeling that I have got through this month as some symtomps of increased hunger, weaknes and sometimes a pulse beating I could feel in my tummy, and so took a test with pregnance test strip. But i have got a weak positive test, that is- on the the second line- it is highlighted not dark but faint.. so i am confused I am pregnant or not. Can you guide me?

Yes, I have almost regular periods every month. It use to be between 28-30 days. I have hype thyroid problem for which I am taking eltroxin. No I dont take contraceptive pills or any medicine like this ever.

It is very essential to confirm this faintly positive test.
I would suggest you to repeat UPT test after 3-4 days (because UPT is usually positive after 7 days of missing expected period). There is a good chance that it will be positive in repeat test.
If it is still faintly positive then you should get an Trans vaginal ultrasound (TVS) to confirm or rule out pregnancy. TVS is a confirmatory test. It can also rule out ectopic pregnancy.
Kindly repeat test after 3 days.
