What Symptoms To Look For After A Head Injury?
Question: My 1.2 year old daughter fell down from the bed. She suddently stood up and started running other side of the bed.
It looks like she fell from her front side. She was crying after falling down and didnt loose her consiouness.
Immediately verified bleeding in nose and ears but didnt find anything. She was crying for sometime and had breast milk and slept after that.
Now after close observation we can see some red marks near her forehead.
We didnt get time to check her activities as she slept off.
Please see attached the images related to her injury.
We have not consulted the doctor yet and keeping her under observation from past 1 hour.
No vomiiting or any other abnormal signs as of now.
Please advise and let me know if there is anything to worry.

I have gone through your query carefully and understand your concerns. I have checked the attached images and they did not look concerning. The local injury will gradually resolve. The main concern could be the ominous signs of head injury which are:
* Vomiting
* Severe headache
* Altered consciousness or Loss of consciousness
* Convulsions
Unless any of these are present you need not worry. If present, you would need to get a CT scan of the brain done. As of now let her sleep. Give Paracetamol or Acetaminophen in case she is irritable due to pain.
