What Precautions Needs To Be Taken When Allergic To Bees?

Question: i just moved out to a rural area about 16 miles from town. it takes about 25 minutes to get to town. my family is healthy other than my husband having a bad allergy to bees. is living 25 minutes away from the cloeset hospital dangerous? our town has a local EMS, but I still worry because of my husbands allergy and havinf 2 children under two.

Welcome and thanks for your query.
I understand your concern. It is not the distance but the time that takes to reach an appropriate medical facility in an emergency is what matters. So if you have good roads and a reliable car which you can drive well even under pressure, 16 miles is not a big distance.
Since your husband has severe allergy to bees it would be good to get an epinephrine autoinjector and be familiar with its use.
It would be good to equip your first aid box with some essential medicines in consultation with your children's pediatrician.
