What Is The Treatment For Tight Foreskin And Burning Sensation Of Penis?

default
Posted on Tue, 1 Apr 2014
Question: Hi. My foreskin has been tighter than usual and I have had a burning sensation there, too. There is some redness as well, but no swelling. The glans also shows slight redness without swelling or bumps. It does not burn. Sometimes there is a slight itch at the base of the glans. If I retract the foreskin too quickly, it sometimes splits. When I retract it slowly, it stretches easily. There is no smell and no discharge. I have not changed my hygiene habits, washing once a day at least. I had sex with my wife about four weeks before this issue started, and not since. She does not have any symptoms. I used KY jelly while masturbating before symptoms started. I had not used KY previously. I have had similar symptoms twice several years ago and with years between. Both times they cleared up within days without any treatment. On this occasion symptoms have persisted for about four weeks. They are not unbearable, but the persistence concerns me. Your advice would be much appreciated - thank you in advance. Regards XXXXX

Brief Answer: Candidiasis. Single dose of Fluconazole 150 mg. Detailed Answer: Hello, I have gone through your query and image. You are suffering from a fungal infection called Candidiasis. Usually the symptoms are On and Off as you experienced. Because this flares when you have low immunity by any other infections or while facing a stressful situations in life and eventually go away. In between these episodes, you are alright and do not feel symptoms. But the fungus is always there and flares when the condition favors for that like low immunity. Both of you ( Including your partner or wife) should be treated by antifungals. Usually we recommend to take a antifungal fluconazole 150 mg single dose and this is enough. Both of you should take the treatment on same day. If the rash and the symptom persists, both of you need to continue the treatment for a week. Hope this helps. Please write back for further queries. Wishing you good health.
