Question: I have black spot (size of pin head) on my throat, and just have a bit of trouble swallowing.

Brief Answer: You should consult ENT specialist Detailed Answer: Hello Thanks for writing to XXXXXXX You need proper examination by ENT specialist. It is important to know the position of black spot in throat means whether it is in posterior(back) region of throat,in tonsillar region or else. In back region,black spot is normal whereas in tonsillar region mucus plugs can give the same look. We have to also see other lesions like associated white spots.White spots are the cause of concern. It is also important to know history of smoking,chewing tobacco etc. You are 62 years old so all possibilities including cancer should be excluded as you have also problem in swallowing. Don't worry,it may be due to simple infection also.So,you should consult ENT specialist at the earliest. Get well soon. Hope i have answered your query. Further queries are most welcome.
