What Is The Half Life Of Sulpiride?

Question: Hi,
I am on Sulpiride 125 mg now, my psychiatrist gave me this med to try to counteract the dopaminergic effect of Solian 100 mg. I would like to know the half life of SulpiIride and it has cumulative effects. I take 125 mg of Sulpiride once daily, at night.

If we consider the half life of Sulpiride then its about 6-8 hours in most patients. In patients with renal issues the half life increases.

Yes the drug has cumulative effects. With progressive increase in the duration of therapy more pronounced effects are seen as compared to the effects seen during start of therapy.

Thank you very much for your answer, i just have another question. If Sulpiride is cumulative, i still can have improvement after week four, since i guess there is a steady plasma concentration?

Yes, even after taking drug for 4 weeks you can expect improvement. The drug shows progressive increase in effects for even 8 weeks of starting the treatment. So in my opinion you will see improvement after 4 weeks also.
