Question: What is the maximum amount of hydrocodone I can take? I have taken 2 pills so far about 2 hours ago and I am in excruciating pain from a scalding burn on my foot.

Brief Answer:
there are several issues.

Detailed Answer:
the pills come as 15's. so, certainly 15 mg is a general dose. if the pills are 30 mg pills then two is quite a lot; dangerous even. if the pills are 5's then 3 of them is still a standard dose.
HOWEVER:
1) taking a BUNCH will not change the fact that the peak effect is about AN HOUR after use
2) if they have tylenol in them, then tylenol OVERDOSE is a potential concern. If other tylenol is already in the system then even 4 pills MIGHT be a problem.
3) some people just don't respond to narcotics.
4) it is HIGHLY dependent on what amount of narcotics one usually takes (there is tolerance--getting used to them) and it is also highly dependent on the type of pain. dental pain is better treated with over the counter aspirin like drugs.
5) LOCAL care might work better (an ice pack or lidocaine creme).
