If someone has multiple medical issues including heart failure or lung disease this might have a more significant effect on prognosis then myelodysplastic syndrome. it is important to also establish what degree of anemia is caused by the myelodysplastic syndrome. Treatments are available to minimize severity of anemia as well. I think it is very important for you to sit down with the physician and talk about all of the medical problems and which medical problems can be managed well in the setting of myelodysplastic syndrome.
