Brief Answer:
Calcifications in vessels are age related changes.

Detailed Answer:
Hello XXXX
Thanks for writing to HCM

Abdominal aorta is a part of aorta in abdominal region. After exiting from thorax, aorta enters in abdomen.
Calcification in aorta are age related changes. It is due to deposition of calcium in the blood vessel walls.Calcification process get aggravated due to hypertension, diabetes mellitus, dyslipidemia.
Calcification in iliac arteries are also age related changes.

Calcification in these arteries doesn't generally require any treatment.Treatment is only required in patients with complications. These changes in vessels may lead to aneurysm, dissection, rupture etc.Calcification in carotid arteries may lead to stroke in brain.

You should be screened for hypertension, diabetes mellitus, dyslipidemia.
You need investigations like routine hemogram, random blood sugar, lipid profile.
You should also be screened for hypertension.

Proper treatment depend upon findings.

Hope I have answered your question.
