Question: Hi, I had my period and am using an ovulation kit. According to my kit, I am on high fertility 8 days from day 1 when my menstrual cycle started. I'm 36 turning 37 next month. Normally, I ovulate on the 9 and 10th day. Is this normal? My period is usually 27 days.

Brief Answer:
can be considered as normal

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for the query.
Menstrual cycle with length 21 days to 35 days can be considered as normal only.
Minimal fluctuation in the date of ovulation is common.
Ovulation kit usually shows the levels LH hormone, which will be elevated prior to ovulation.
So, as according to your ovulation, your menstrual cycle length is normal only.
Better to plan for unprotected intercourse for 2 to 3 days around the period of ovulation, which will increase the possibility of pregnancy.
Hope I have answered your query. I will be available to answer followup queries. If you are satisfied with the response, please give your review at the end of the discussion.
Take care.

Thank you. Ovulating so early on day 9 & 10, is this not too early? Or does this not matter.

Brief Answer:
Some women can have early ovulation

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Usually the postovulatory period length will be almost constant with 14 to 16 days.
So, if you ovulate on 9th day, the length of the menstrual cycle could be between 23 to 25 days.
That can be considered as normal only.
This is normal for you. Menstrual pattern can vary from person to person.
Usually by the time of ovulation, the endometrium will gain the capacity to accept the fertilized ovum by hormonal influence.
Take care.
