Hello XXXXX,
Thanks for writing to us at XXXXXXX
An AEC test is a type of blood test.
It is called Absolute Eosinophil Count. ( AEC ).
Our blood contains white blood cells, as you might be aware.
Eosinophils are one kind of white blood cells, they are responsible for fighting off diseases in our body.
AEC test indicates that blood is drawn from your body, generally from the forearm, and then a complete blood count is obtained, which analysis the number of eosinophils in the blood, amongst other types of cells.
Normally, the value of eosinophils in the blood is Less than 350 cells per microliter (cells/mcL).
Normal values may vary amongs laboratories and amongst individuals.
Higher values are found in allergic conditions such as asthma, hay fever, eczema, cold and respiratory infections, parasitic infections of the body , autoimmune diseases, drug reactions etc.
Lower levels may be found when cortisol levels in the body are high.
No importance is attached generally to ISOLATED raised eosinophil levels.
They do not confirm or point to a diagnosis, but when a condition is suspected, they only provide supportive evidence.
As they are raised in a variety of conditions ( including seasonal flu and rhinitis - known as common cold ), just a high AEC value by itself will not reveal any condition.
If you have no symptoms, and this is an isolated finding on a blood test, please ignore it, as it has no specific value by itself.
All the best.
Please feel free to ask any further clarifications.

Brief Answer:

Detailed Answer:
As I said, it is just a LAB result.
It is not a condition at all.
By itself it does not even point towards a condition.
You require no treatment just for a high AEC count.
