Posted on Tue, 8 Jul 2014
Question: I have been diagnosed with an 11MM lesion on the right lobe of my liver. For years Ihave had unusual liver blood work. Additionally they found Shotty mediastinal nodes in my chest. Is this something I should follow up on, or is it nothing?

Thank you

Brief Answer:
it should be followed up

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXXXXX

Welcome to HealthcareMagic.

I have read your query and understand your concern.

Though a node of one cm in liver is not significant on its own, but in a backdrop of deranged liver function test for years, it becomes important and needs further work up.

Also presence of shotty mediastinal lymph node could be either due to a chest infection or a sign of malignancy.

But these will need further imaging like the mri you are planning to get and a few blood tests like a complete blood count to rule out any infection.

So, do follow up these nodes till a diagnosis is reached for their proper management.

Hope i have been helpful.
