Brief Answer: Cold sensations- feet can come from poor circulat Detailed Answer: Hello, I have studied your case history. Cold sensations to the feet can come from poor circulation, disorders of the nervous system, and decreased metabolism from a low thyroid condition. Once the episode subsides circulation comes to normal and foot may feel warm. Raynaud’s phenomenon and diabetes leads to such symptoms. Raynaud's phenomenon features narrowing of tiny blood vessels as a reaction to nerve sensitivity to cold exposure, which causes cold feet symptoms. In chronic diabetes there is occlusion of blood vessels supplying tissues of foot. He may further advise investigation like blood test and arterial colour Doppler or foot perfusion scan. Digital artery pressure: pressures are measured in the arteries of the toe before and after the foot have been cooled. A decrease of at least 15 mmHg is diagnostic (positive). Thyroid function tests: this may reveal hypothyroidism. Treatment can be done according to diagnosis. Hope this answers your query.
