Brief Answer:
Right now it can be controlled with medicines

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for writing in to us.

A liver having a coarse echotexture in ultrasound scan means that there are some changes within the liver which have caused altered appearance. This change can happen from many causes and can be described as mild to moderate liver disease.

In your case it is important to know why the above changes have taken place and if it is due to any liver infection, genetic causes, any liver inflammation due to alcohol intake or any condition of the liver itself which has caused this change.

In most cases, this condition can be controlled with medicines but it is important to consult a gastroenterologist and then try and know the probable cause for your problem.

Liver is not totally damaged and you do not require a liver transplant right now. However your health is to be closely monitored for years to come.

Hope your query is answered.
