Question: Hello Maa'm/Sir
I am 29 and unmarried.Have my sonography results with me which says "Both ovaries shows non dominant follicles within" And "polycystic appearance of ovaries ". What to know the remedies of this.And what does this non dominant follicles means?

Ovaries are reproductive organs in females. It contains eggs and every month one of the ovaries releases a mature egg. There are many follicles in each ovary and one of the follicles increases in size and is known as dominant follicle.

In your ultrasound report there is no dominant follicle visualised and therefore non dominant follicles are seen in both ovaries and this condition is called polycystic ovaries.

The condition polycystic ovaries is due to hormonal imbalance and it is recommended that you go for a detailed evaluation by a gynecologist. They will assess your hormone levels and then prescribe medical treatment depending on any abnormalities and after doing a clinical assessment.
