default
Posted on Thu, 26 Jun 2014
Question: Hi Dr. XXXXXXX

How are you? As advised, I went for a repeat scan & there was no mass seen in the uterus & adnexa. However there was some minimal fluid noted in the pouch of XXXXXXX
Also I still have the nagging pain in my left leg from pelvic bone till my feet. I also get a slight pain on the left lower side of my abdomen which is intermittent. There is mild irritation & itching around the vulva. I am attaching the latest transvaginal scan report for your reference

Detailed Answer:
Hello
Thanks for writing to us with your health concern.
Thank you for asking , am fine.
Hope you have been well too.
I have gone through the latest scan report.
It is perfectly normal, rest assured.
Mild fluid in the pouch of XXXXXXX is a normal finding, there is nothing to worry about.
THe abortion is complete.
It is also common to have mild pain, discomfort in the abdomen and legs.
You should start taking a multivitamin supplement.
Take Capsule A to Z daily, at times, the left leg pain could be due to vitamin deficiency which affects the nerves, you can take this in addition to the iron supplements that you are taking.
Mild itching and irritation should subside in a few days.
Abstain from intercourse for 6 weeks and then use protection after that.
Were you given antibiotics anytime during the course of this whole process ?
Avoid using any gels, cleansers, soaps, douches.
Just clean the private parts with lukewarm water and XXXXXXX dry gently with a cotton towel.
Change underwear frequently since it is summer and quite humid.
There is no pain, discharge or foul smell, so it is not a significant infection.
All the best

Thank you for the advice. No, I wasn't given any antibiotic. During today's visit I was prescribed Forcan (Fluconazole) once at night for 3 days & Siloderm Mixi cream for application. Should I follow this course?

Detailed Answer:
Yes you can use this.
It would help any mild irritation / beginning of infection if it exists.
Along with the A to Z multivitamin tablets, take daily calcium and vitamin D supplements too - SHelcal D tablets are a good example.
AM sure you would be fine in a matter of days.
Continue the supplements for 3 months.
Wish you good health always.
