Question: Hello Doctor,
Can you please tell me whether my semen report is normal.
Time of specimen : 11.19 am
Examination : 12.10 PM
Duration of abstinence : 3 days
Liquefaction at 37 C : 45 mins
Volume : 2.0 ml
Appearance : Pearly White
Color : White opaque.
Viscosity : Present
pH :: 7.8


Total Sperm Concentration : 31.6 ml
Percentage Motility : 40 %
Grade A : 15 %
Grade B : 25%
Pus Cells : 7-8 /hpf
Red Blood Cells : NIL
Epithelial Cells : Occassional.

Hi Sir,

I understand your query and concern.

As per the report given,

You seem to have following abnormalities noted.

1.Pus cells-7-8/hpf.
2.Grade A 15%-slightly lower-expected to be above 20%-Mild Asthenozoospermia.
3.Colour Opaque white

This indicates gross infection of the seminal fluid resulting in abnormal motility of the sperms .This condition is termed as Pyospermia.

This condition needs aggressive antibiotic treatment to eliminate infection and to normalize seminal parameters.
