What Does This Liver Function Test Result Indicate?
Question: I have had high ast test results (89) and alt (126) test results for about six months. I had the tests run monthly for about 5 months and all were high except for one month. That month was normal. I thought maybe it was diet cola, but I've stayed away from that for about six weeks now, and the last test was high again. I'm not a drinker of alcohol. I am 5' 3" tall and weigh 190. I know I'm overweight...could that be the reason? I am 68 years old. I've been checked for cancer through an ultrasound and nothing showed up. I take Metroprolol success ER 50 mg; Omeprazole Dr 40 mg capsule. Can you think of something that could be causing this?
