Question: Hello,
I made chest x-ray (P.A and Left Lateral views) and the report result is as follows:
. Bilateral basal slight increase in vascular markings
. Cardiac shadow is not enlarged in it's transverse diamerer
. Costophrenic angles are free

can I know what these three issues mean? As I still feel some slight hurt in some parts of my chest.

Hello
can I ask for an answer please?

Brief Answer:
Possible infection

Detailed Answer:
Hello ! Thank you for using HealthcareMagic.
I have gone through your question and understand your concern .

Here is the interpretation of your chest X-ray:

- The first issue ( increase in vascular markings) shows an inflammation of the lung, could be an infection (the blood vessels are prominently visible ).

- The second issue with the Cardiac shadow means that you heart size is normal (you don't have any enlarged heart)

- The third issue: Costophrenic angles are free .. Means that the lower part of the lungs are normal you don't have any fluid accumulated in the lungs ( it's clear), it's normal .

The only thing derived from this X-ray is, the sign of the inflammation which could be due to an infection that's why you have chest pain.

You should discuss these with your treating doctor, according to the other examinations (physical examination of your lungs) and your symptoms, s/he may diagnose the probable cause and the proper treatment.

Hope i have answered your question.
Let me know if you have any further queries, I will be happy to help.

Brief Answer:
Yes, most likely

Detailed Answer:
Hello again!

Yes could be due to a viral infection (flu). Good that you're okay now, so it's in remission already.

Wish you good health.

Hello Dr. Rudina,

Thanks for your last feedback. I just delivered this X-ray results to a doctor for an advise and proper treatment. But he told me that every thing is ok and no medicine to be taken for my chest hurt. And also told me that this slight hurt maybe from my stomach.
Should I gogfor another doctor for advice and treatment? And also, is there any way for acheck should be taken like blood analyes to be sure that no dangerous thing?

Thanks,

Brief Answer:
It's enough

Detailed Answer:
Hello again! Happy to help you.

I think what the doctor said could be right , The X-ray "it's ok" because it's a normal reaction ( blood vessels prominently ) that happen after a viral infection .

In a viral infection the changes in theXray will pass by itself and I think the Xray its enough no need for other examination.

Anyway if you don't feel any better or if you feel worse you should go to the treating doctor again for a second evaluation.

Hope it is helpful.
Let me know if you have any further questions.
Take Care !
