Brief Answer: Please find detailed answer below Detailed Answer: Hi XXXXXXX Thanks for writing in to us. I have read through your query in detail. Your blood test report mentions anisopoikilocytosiss which in simple terms means proliferation of mildly altered shape of the red blood cells. Most of the shapes are macrocytic (larger than normal size) and contains normal amount of hemoglobin pigment (normochromic). Macroovalocytes refers to oval shaped red blood cells which are bigger in size than normal cells. They can be seen in hereditary disorders, such as hereditary elliptocytosis, or in acquired disorders, such as iron deficiency anemia, infectious anemias, thalassemia to name a few. Hemoglobin electrophoresis is a techniques which will help specifically characterize and particular disorder to do with the hemoglobin components. Hope your query is answered. Do write back if you have any doubts. Regards, Dr.Vivek
