Question: Hi , could you explain my Sinus CT scan . It says Mild mucosal thickening and partial opacification of the left frontal
sinus drainage pathway. Patchy mucosal thickening is also seen within
the mid left ethmoid air cells.

Minimal frothy material is seen at the alveolar recess of the left

Brief Answer:
There is mild inflammation of paranasal air sinuses on left side of face

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXX,
Thanks for writing in to us.

I have read through your query in detail.
Please find my observations below.

1. The frontal paranasal air sinus is a cavity is located above the eyes and there is slight inflammation noted within it on the left side and its drainage route.

2. There is similar inflammation involving the ethmoid sinus on the left side.

3. Slight inflammation is also noted within the left maxillary sinus in the sinus cavity with narrowing of the infundibulum which is the passage connecting the sinus to its drainage.

4. You have sinusitis feature on the left side paranasal air sinuses and this is being treated with Cefuroxime Axetil an antibiotic, methlyprednisolone 4 mg a steriod and Fluticasone furoate which is a synthetic corticosteroid derived from fluticasone.

5. Your condition appears more likely to be allergic and manifested by cold weather and dust pollution. Please protect yourself from harsh weather conditions and pollution around you.

Hope this answers your question. Please feel free to correct any oversight in my interpretation of your problems and discuss them in detail as per your requirements.

Hope your query is answered.
Do write back if you have any doubts.

Regards,
Dr.Vivek
