What Does The Following Upper Abdominal CT Scan Report Indicate?

default
Posted on Mon, 19 Jun 2017
Question: Hello Doctor,
my latest upper abdomen CT scan reveals that " there are few small non enhancing fluid attenuating hypodense cystic lesions are seen scattered in bilateral kidneys, largest being 16*16 mm at upper pole of left kidney, likely benign cysts".
One MRI taken two years ago revealed 10*10mm cyst . My cretinine levels have been normal, as per latest reports too, my kidney function tests including Uric acid is all normal. Apart from phosphorus at 5.48mg/dl and globulin is 4.20g/dl.
Please advice what are the risks associated and also further course of action if need be.
Thanking in anticipation,
Shahaab

Brief Answer:
Kidney cysts look okay

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

i have seen all the reports. they show lymphadenopathy with high esr and lung nodules. we should differentiate between any tuberculosis vs old scars. also the esr and globulins are high . these can be part of disease process.

myeloma studies and fnac from axillary lymph node are needed. please discuss with your doctor.

as far as kidney cyst goes the do not show any signs of disease at present.

best wishes.
