Brief Answer:
within normal range if normal c reactive protein, high if Hs c reactive pro

Detailed Answer:
HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

C reactive protein is a non specific inflammatory marker. This means that it increases with inflammation in any area of the body.
Non specific means that the exact area of inflammation cannot usually be determined by this test alone.

The lower and upper limit can vary slightly from one lab to the next.

According to medscape (website used by doctors for medical info), web md, the normal range is up to 10 mg/l which means that at 8, your value is within normal range.

There is a type of c reactive protein test called highly sensitive c reactive protein (Hs c reactive protein).
With this test, if your levels are between 1 to 3 mg/l then there is an average risk of heart disease and stroke, if they are greater than 3 then there is a high risk of heart disease and stroke

If it is the highly sensitive c reactive protein then it would be high but if it is only the normal c reactive protein then it is fine.

I hope this helps, feel free to ask any other questions
