What Does The USG Of The Pelvis Indicate?
Question: Hello doctor. Did USG on pelvis ( 6 the day)
right ovary measures- 30×27×18 mm ( vol 8.2 cc) shows multiple small peripherally arranged follicles.
Left ovary measures - 30×27×19mm (vol 8.2 cc)
Utreus measures 69×49×41mm
Normal myometrical echoes with no focal lesions
Endometrical thickness 7mm
Bilateral adnexal regions appear normal
No free fluid noted in pouch of XXXXXXX
Is this report normal. Or do I need to take any medications.

Your ultrasound of pelvis with this reports,
right ovary measures- 30×27×18 mm ( vol 8.2 cc) shows multiple small peripherally arranged follicles.
Left ovary measures - 30×27×19mm (vol 8.2 cc).
Could be suggestive of a diagnosis of PCOD or follicular cyst.
Please do not worry as it should be correlated with your clinical features and the other investigation reports.
As now-a-days hormonal disorder might be the commonest cause of PCOD in the reproductive age group and responds very well to treatment.
A follicular cyst develops each month and contains the small egg within it. The sac ruptures during ovulation and the egg comes out of the cyst. Sometimes the cyst can grow larger than the normal size which is up to 3 cm. If the sac that holds the egg doesn't break open to release the egg, it can grow, anywhere in size from 1 inch to 4 inches across.
You should modify your diet and avoid all fatty foods and add fresh fruits and vegetables. Please maintain a healthy weight as this helps to regularize the hormonal disorder.
You must consult your gynaecologist for further correlation and interpretation of reports to have a confirmed diagnosis and treatment.
