What Does Skin Sensitivity At The Top Of The Feet Indicate?

default
Posted on Sat, 23 Sep 2017
Question: My 64 year old husband has extreme sensitivity on the tops of his feet. They feel a little sunburned all the time, and are extremely susceptible to the sun - get red and even peel VERY easily. He is not diabetic but has neuropathy in both feet, which we have had checked out. They did various tests, could not find a cause and said it was mild. He is on meds for slight high blood pressure, and omeprazole for stomach acid occasionally. He is extremely healthy and physically active - works a full time job in a rock quarry and runs our family farm. He had large B cell non-Hoskins lymphoma 3 years ago. We caught it very early, 1E, and they have considered him completely cured for 2 years. These feet symptoms started about 5 years ago.

Brief Answer:
Upload reports previously done

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
I have gone through your question and understand your concern.
The cause of neuropathy can be diagnosed by doing various tests.
In 25% cases the cause is still not apparent.
You can upload reports related to neuropathy like nerve conduction testing, immunoelectropheresis for myeloma, Vasculitis profile like ANA and ENA, Renal and liver function test, vitamin B 12, folate, thyroid profile.
Another possibility can be chemotherapy related neuropathy.
Nerve biopsy can be done too.
Visit to a neurologist for detailed examination and investigation accordingly.
Hope you found the answer helpful.
