What Does Persistent Blood In Urine Despite Having Zocef Indicate?
Question: I have gone through surgery for enlarged prostrate on 7 February and Dr has prescribed Zoceph 250 twice daily for 14 days. Even after taking for 13 days I still see some blood drops at the start of urine and also lot of burning while passing urine. I also have irritation in my urinal track.
Should I increase the dose fro Zocef 250 to 500.

Firstly you should give a mid stream sample of urine for culture and sensitivity.
Yes you can increase the dose of zocef to 500 till reports come.
Add urine alkalizer.
Drink plenty of water.
Try to pass urine as soon as you feel like, as increase pressure may lead to bleeding.

Urine culture was done on 7 Feb ( the day of surgery) but it came negative with NO GROWTH in organism. However Polymorpho Nuclear Leukocytes is 10-15 / HPL.
Please advise if I continue with Zocef 250 or 500. I have stopped blood thinner since surgery as advised which I was taking for long time due to heart problem.

Polymorpho nuclear leukocytosis is also indicative some infection.
You have done a right thing by stopping blood thinner, please do not start till you are perfectly all right.
You must take zocef 500 only.Also add urine alkalizer.
I still feel one more urine culture needs to be done,to make sure there is no infection.
If culture report comes negative then you have to see your doctor to make sure that the procedure has gone well.
